Fort George was built by the British Army to defend against American invasion. Today it stands as a National Historic Site of Canada, restored to its glory of 1812 - a date before it was attacked and occupied by the Americans.

While its presence is not historically accurate, the restored fort includes a period-appropriate workshop. With old machinery and tools, it was a great place to spend time.

My companions were using bulky cylindrical memory cards that need a special piece of machinery to download. Apparently they were recording in black and white, so this is in honour of a pair of excellent and generous photographers.

All told, a surprisingly interesting and photogenic place to be. My thanks to the people at the Fort: a uniformly friendly and informative group that made the day a success.
